Royal Crown Derby Ewer by Desire Leroy

A Royal Crown Derby two handled Ewer, shape number 768, "vase, unusual,"cone body with shell shaped top, white enamel, similar to pate-sur-pate, botanical study upon rose du barri ground, and signed (Desire) Leroy.  The vase is 10 1/4” height, 4 5/8” diameter (base); the shell shaped top is 3 1/16” height, and 1 7/8”  width (widest point).  Royal Crown Derby puce printed mark with date cypher for 1891, “England,” Royal Coat of Arms and “By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen.”  There are some illegible inscribed marks on the bottom of the ewer.
